International Nursing Research Conference
'Facing the Challenge of Health Care
Systems in Transition'
On behalf of the Israel Society for Nursing Research and the Organizing
Committee, we are pleased to invite you to participate in the
International Nursing Research Conference, entitled "Facing the
Challenge of Health Care Systems in Transition", taking place in
Jerusalem from June 30-July 3, 2008.
Health systems worldwide have become more complex than ever before. A
global rise in chronic diseases coexists with the re-emergence of old
epidemics and the emergence of new health threats, as SARS, the Avian
Flu, or the effects of climate change. Changes in life styles and
societal developments, as migration, growing poverty and unemployment
all effect the health needs of populations, The commitment to meet these
old and new challenges and advance health care vis-à-vis economic
constraints, acceleration of medical technology costs and the impact of
market fluctuations, requires continuous change in all health care
systems . It is essential that nursing, a pivotal profession in any
health system spearhead creative solutions and not only adapt to
changes, that are initiated due to economic pressures. Nursing research
and evidence based nursing practice have progressed exponentially in
developed as well as developing countries, seeking new ways to address
complex health issues.
