Analysis and Evaluation of Contemporary Nursing Knowledge: Nursing Models and Theories
Combines in one volume what would have been the new editions of Analysis and Evaluation of
Conceptual Models of Nursing and Analysis and Evaluation of Nursing Theories. The work attempts
to clarify the confusion between the more abstract and general conceptual models and the
relatively concrete and specific grand theories. The author attempts to present the models and
theories as they have developed from their particular originators, rather than rely upon
secondary analyses and interpretations. Among the models and theories presented are those put
forth by such thinkers as Dorothy Johnson, Imogene King, Myra Levine, Dorothea Orem, Madeleine
Leininger, Margaret Newman, Rosemarie Parse, and others.Book News, Inc.®, Portland, OR
